Not too long ago I posted a piece on Novell iFolder. A lot of people have read the discussion. In addition, several people brought up Groove as an alternative. When I debunked this notion, Groove Chairman Ray Ozzie weighed in and mentioned Mangomind.
A few weeks later, Scott Davis, CTO of MangoMind gave a description of how MangoMind works.
“Hi Craig,
I happened to read this thread and thought I’d give you a quick overview of our Mangomind offering. Ray and I spoke at a conference a few months ago about our respective products and technologies.
Mangomind (Multi-user InterNet Drive) is a secure, best of breed, Internet file service for Windows. Windows applications work natively over the Mangomind service, the same way they work over a LAN. Mangomind provides true multi-user file sharing, providing the full suite of Windows file system APIs, including byte range locking, so that all applications perform as they normally would on a LAN. “
Scott then followed up with an offer to try out Mangomind, which I will do and let you know what I think.
