History of Microsoft Blogging

Bill Gates gave a talk to CEOs recently and brought up blogging and RSS.



They all heard Gates describe blogs and RSS feeds as tools that “make it very easy to communicate” with customers, suppliers and employees.


 Joshua Allen, the first Microsoft blogger– gives his perspective.



When I first started blogging, the climate was not very favorable toward ìunedited voicesì, even for employees posting to newsgroups and such.


Scoble–perhaps the most widely read Msft blogger–comments:



It’s amazing to think that I’ve only been at Microsoft about a year. In that time we’ve seen the number of blogs go up from about 100 to more than 600 today.


I am working on getting PatchLink to understand that blogging isn’t just extracurricular but fundamental. It takes time.
