If you’ve been keeping up here, you would know that I have been trying to make Microsoft’s new CardSpace technology work on my machine.
I have tried numerous things, the CardSpace control panel still won’t operate.
Pamela Dingle has been helping me try to trouble shoot the problem.
Today she asked me if my file system was FAT32 or NTFS. I told her that I keep my drive C: in FAT32 format so I can boot from a floppy and recover my critical data if I have a problem. (This has happened to me several times.)
She informed me that CardSpace only works with NTFS.
Hmmmm. She then recommended that I be trying this stuff in a Virtual Machine anyway.
Truth be told, I would convert to NTFS if I could successfully make a bootable XPSP2 CD. I diligently followed the directions I found and the boot disk fails.
I will try to make the bootable CD work, I need to anyway, and then maybe resort to the VM solution.
Thanks Pamela!
