Vista vs OSX–Imaginary OS Wars

December 19th, 2006 · No Comments

This kind of thinking  always amazes me. The competition between OSX and
Vista isn’t real, it’s totally fabricated. Msft is an OS company. Apple is a
hardware company. It’s as simple as that. You  can’t buy OSX to run on your
Intel box. You can buy a Mac to run Vista, but you will get OSX included for
free. The bean counters at Apple couldn’t care less which OS you run on the
machine that makes the company money. Only geeks and marketing types think this
is important. Uh….which one are you Scoble?

Smart
personís debate of OSX vs. Windows Vista

Iíd like to get a group together to debate Windows Vista vs. Mac OSX sometime
in January after MacWorld and CES (since Windows Vista ships on January 31st,
thatíll be a good time to do it).

I donít want religious jerks, but I do want advocates, especially ones who
can effectively demo their favorite things.

Who is your OS debate ìdream team?î

Iíll start the list of potential candidates with Gina Trapani of Life Hacker.

Iíd like to end up with three people for each OS. No ìDigg commenter
attitude.î Just the facts, back and forth, to give people a good mental model of
whatís up on each OS and what the strengths and weaknesses of each OS
are.
